A FULL PUBLIC HEALTH APPROACH

EDUCATION | COMMUNITY | FINANCIAL | ENVIRONMENT

PUTTING SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES FIRST

“We need innovative thinking in New Britain and LEADERSHIP that genuinely cares about people.”

My name is Chris Porcher and I’m the next Mayor of New Britain. I am a 28 year old life long resident that is dedicated to being a public servant and putting the people first. I know New Britain’s unique challenges and I am fully prepared to bring innovative and modern solutions that we need. As an administration we must do better at addressing taxes that burden our senior citizens as well as middle- and low-income families. We have to consistently address the declining conditions of our neighborhood schools and the lack of spending per student. We have to fairly allocate resources in the community in order to invest in our families and neighborhoods that are underserved and ignored. I will do this by implementing an innovative public health approach to education, city finances and the social needs of our community.

As mayor of New Britain, I will ensure education is a priority and will pride myself in being a voice and advocate for New Britain’s future. I will prioritize building a relationship with the Board of Education leadership, ensuring we put our children first. Our administration will not turn a blind eye…

I will fight to bridge the gap between education and employment by ensuring workforce development providers..

I will assemble a new pool of rehab dollars to tackle the problems that accompany blighted properties. This requires making loans and grant dollars more accessible than they are now. It’s been too…

OPIOID EPIDEMIC

This is not only a recurring issue in New Britain but it has had personal impact on me as well. In 2017 I lost my uncle to an opioid overdose. I will fight to make sure families do not have to suffer the loss my family did.

The continued increase in overdoses has not only affected individuals and families but has put a strain on EMS..

CITY FINANCES & TAXES

New Britain is facing a financial crisis with high taxes and underfunded services. Our current mill rate has burdened the working class and retired residents who live on fixed incomes. New Britain has the 4th highest tax rate in the state but..

Homelessness continues to remain an issue in New Britain due to a lack of affordable housing, lawful eviction, foreclosure, physical disability, mental health, fire, underfunded services and the lack of family support. The truth is, we have families, children and veterans that remain homeless in New Britain.

Under my leadership I..
